Jim Dolan is Founder and President of Heroes on the Water. Following graduation from the United States Air Force Academy in 1976 he served in the USAF for 13 years as a pilot flying mainly C-130s with 8 years overseas in the Philippines and Germany. He earned a Masters Degree in Computer Information Systems (MCIS) from Boston University in 1984. Jim is currently a Captain at American Airlines. He is a born and raised Texas Bass Fisherman, including 6 years as an avid kayak fisherman. |

Alex Blue is a former Marine and enjoys counseling and representing veteran owned businesses as a senior associate with Macdonald Devin, PC where he represents clients in state and federal courts. Having served his country in the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 2000 - 2008, Alex is passionate about HOW’s mission and veteran’s affairs and is an active participant in several Veteran Advocacy Organizations including the Marine Corps League, Disabled American Veterans, and Metroplex Marines. Alex earned a BA from Austin College in 1995 and his JD from Baylor University in 2000. |

Andy Zimmerman is a long-time waterman and the founder and former CEO at Legacy Paddlesports LLC, the parent company of Native Watercraft, Heritage Kayaks, Liquidlogic and Watertrail Paddling Gear. After working for his father in the family furniture business for 13 years, he started the Wilderness Systems Kayak Company in his backyard in 1986, building it to a world class company of 240 employees before selling it in 1998. He then created Confluence Water sports with an investment group and ran it until retirement in 2001 prior to starting Legacy Paddlesports in 2005. Andy serves as a board member on the National Paddle Council and created the North Carolina Paddle Trails and the NC Paddle Trail Association. Andy brings a true passion to “serve those who have served” through the mission of Heroes on the Water. |

Dee Elliott has served as principal architect and founder of several companies, including publicly reporting and privately held entities as corporate executive and director, and as consultant and mentor. In the non-profit world, he served as a founding member of the Board of Directors for a pulmonary fibrosis foundation, director of financial development for a cancer research center, and as a mentor to a director of ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ. Following graduation from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1970 with a BS degree, he served six years, including two deployments in Southeast Asia involving combat operations offshore and in-country. He has an MBA from the University of Northern Colorado. |

Mark Crumblish has been a C-level executive in F500 aerospace companies such as Rockwell Collins and ITT Aerospace, and in private equity firms creating new ventures. He has been a founding partner in 9 startup businesses, and served as the founder and president of a highly successful non-profit youth organization. Mark is currently Director of Business Pursuits, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company. A former naval officer and aviator, Mark has 232 aircraft carrier landings in jets, and 2000+ flight hours in 15 different aircraft types. Mark has an MBA from Northwestern University (Kellogg), an MS from the University of Tennessee, and a BS from the United States Naval Academy (Annapolis). |

Robert Aiken enlisted in the Marine Corps in December 2000 after completing a BFA in Studio Art from the University of Texas at Austin. Robert was among the first US troops to move into Iraq at the outset of the war in 2003 and was awarded a Purple Heart during combat operations, Ar Ramadi, Iraq in 2004. He retired from the Marine Corps in 2007 and in 2008 was hired by the Texas Workforce Commission to initiate the Texas Veterans Leadership Program in Dallas County. In 2009, he assisted in the establishment of the United States Veterans Chamber of Commerce where he now serves as Chairman. Robert also produces artwork and is an advocate of the outdoors’ positive impact on combat veterans. |

Dave Winston grew up at the Jersey shore and has been an avid sportsman his entire life. After earning his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Villanova University, Dave spent the next 20 years as a Marine helicopter pilot. Dave has over two years at sea and has been through the Suez Canal eight times. After the Corps, Dave was co-owner of a medical distribution company that provides an outsourced solution for cardiac surgery. Between 2001 and 2005, Dave was a founding partner in a boutique recruiting firm in Boston. Based in Dallas, Dave is now a Managing Partner with Heidrick & Struggles, a premier leadership advisory firm. In his spare time Dave hunts, fishes, and referees youth soccer. Dave enjoys helping veterans transition from the military and sees HOW as a great way to further serve our growing veteran population.
